What Does the Coalition Do?
The Big Bend Homeless Coalition facilitates the delivery of services to homeless families and individuals by providing education, advocacy and the coordination of community resources.

Recent Coalition efforts include:

• Serves as the Tallahassee/Leon County lead agency for the State of Florida Office on Homelessness
• Maintains and regularly updates the Tallahassee/Leon County Continuum of Care for the Homeless
• Sponsorship of monthly Homeless and Hunger Networking meetings
• Development and publication of the Coalition Quarterly Development and publication of the Coalition Update
• Produced brochure “emergency Assistance Programs for Homeless People v Produced “Teaching children about Homelessness” curriculum for kindergarten to high school
• Serves as the Advisory Board for the Education for Homeless Children and Youth Project
• Initiated planning for Integrated Computerized Information System
• Participation in the development of the Comprehensive Homeless Assistance Plan for the State of Florida
• Contributed data for the Tallahassee Consolidated Plan
• Secure in excess of $2,000,000 in grants for area agencies
• Developed plans for a Comprehensive Human Services Center and initiated development
