Our 7th annual Survivors Luncheon is just around the corner! This is a great chance to make an immediate difference in our community, and have fun all at the same time. This event is designed to heighten awareness and educate individuals about homelessness in our area. Through the proceeds from the event we are able to directly improve the lives of those people in our community who are experiencing homelessness.
This years Survivors Luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Ramada Inn, North. Last year's luncheon was a tremendous success and all the profits from the luncheon and auction go directly to the Big Bend Homeless Coalition to support our programs, including our premier transitional housing program HOPE Community. Since opening in March of 2005, HOPE Community has helped 337 people move to permanent stable housing, thereby ending their episode of homelessness. In addition, the Coalition has many other programs all aimed at helping to end homelessness.
